Mark Byington has been practicing landscape architecture since graduating from The University of Georgia in 1983. After eight years of employment with multi-disciplinary design firms, Mark established Byington Landscape Architects in Greenville, SC. In 1997, Mark began to collaborate on projects in the Carolinas and Georgia with the landscape architecture firm of Innocenti & Webel of Long Island, NY, a long established firm of great renown and distinguished projects.

Mark became Director of the Carolinas Office of Innocenti & Webel in Landrum, SC, and served as the project landscape architect for many projects including; Augusta National, numerous Furman University and Wofford College campus improvements, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Center gardens, the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, the Milliken Arboretum, and Riverplace fountains and Riverwalk in downtown Greenville.

Currently Mark is commissioned on a wide array of projects from residential gardens to Interstate beautifications, and is the lead Landscape Architect for the Hartness Living community in Greenville, SC.

Mark has lived in Tryon, NC since 2000 where he and his wife Linda are actively involved in the community and serving on the boards of various non-profits. When finding a rare break from work and service, they are likely “not being found” on a nearby trout stream.
